The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. Darren and Annie still enjoy each other’s company and laugh at each other’s jokes, but, unfortunately, they can’t remember the last time they had sex. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. The deal: one night of freedom, no strings attached, no questions asked. Could a freebie be the cure for their ailing sex life? And will they go through with it? With a keen eye and fresh take, Aselton’s directorial debut shines with crisp storytelling and fine-tuned performances.     87- 前一個小時節奏不好差點毀掉全片，但是後半段非常精彩。致幻的攝影涵攝著豐富幽秘的奇想，聲聲不絕的配樂仿佛在與鬼魂交換氣息。主題充滿了層次感和闡釋空間，非常大衛·洛維。怯懦還鄉的終結宿命，幾乎把劇情推向庸俗的邊緣，但拉回現實的鏡頭如同讓電影第二次誕生。而當你要粗淺地錯認某個勇氣和責任的母題時，那反諷的現實之斧又突然如死亡般不可避免地斬下。這部電影就像擁有兩重生命，待你窺得這生命的兩重性時方能回溯地理解那晦澀沉悶的前半部分。把史詩拍出神話感，又在奇異処埋著日常敘事的草灰蛇線，真是令人叫絕的天才之作。
