The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 期待错了方向，以为庭审是重点然而只是线索。耗时冗长甚至可笑的审判过程带出了事件的回顾，人物形象也建立得很好（主要是Sacha Baron Cohen）。戏里与当代的美国变得如此相像，但结局方向却很难猜测。

驳回一场不公正的审判，为的是尊重逝去的生命。受到国民警卫队暴力对待的人们和在越南战争无辜牺牲的人们，两相对比，回答了人们相信自己处在怎样的国家这一关键问题。国家的合法性首先在保证人民的安危。

国家机器总有一种绞杀民间思想的欲望，即使是号称最民主的“米国”。
这片居然不被禁，这是整不明白到底发生了什么吧。
剧本真的赞，好电影就该是多元多视角两方理由让观众觉得都有道理的。看似疯癫的嬉皮士其实聪明克制，循规蹈矩的好学生却是骚乱源头心机深。也就美国有这种庭审，要在某地。。。。
电影充分表达了现实的可悲，反战又如何，老话说的好“狗改不了吃屎”，表面光鲜正确的蒙太奇下，现实是如此地无力呢！
好看！就是Mark Rylance怎么越来越像赵本山了？
本部电影的人物刻画从这一点来看，仍然有不足之处，挖掘得不够透彻，而法庭上的冲撞对决，插科打诨，很难说会有多少精彩之处。

好久没有看到这么节奏紧凑的剧情片了，开头短短几分钟交代故事背景，剪辑衔接得也十分自然流畅，还不时穿插一些小幽默。
