The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 反转再反转，加上配乐很紧张，确实看的一愣一愣。但是人物符号扁平，督查从好人变坏人再变好，完全为了情节反转服务，律师半路杀出来感觉是另一个电影的主角，大反派政客真的肮脏，对比大学女教授真的圣母。最大的问题是主题混乱，一开始以为是督查伸张正义，中段以为是即时正义与程序正义之争，反转到后来发现整个剧铺垫，是为了引出续集。
警察 司法 新闻 教育甚至民众的生命，不过都是政治的工具罢了。这电影太可怕了！
每次看印度电影都为这个民族感到悲哀，语言是文化的根，但印度已经丧失了语言独立性，印地语掺杂英语听着很奇怪，更奇怪的是，他们还觉得特光荣，总是嘲笑中国人英语发音。庭审过程中，为了凸显辩方律师，控方检察官和法官被塑造成傻子，导演试图通过一场庭审表达诸多东西，但很多不符合庭审规则，像是一出马戏。

评论生态：敢拍就是好，反转到我没想到！牛比，震撼，硬了。大多数线索的存在都是没头没尾的，根本不考虑美学逻辑学的生搬硬套。节奏剪辑配乐慢镜头渲染全部一比吊糟，靠着zz仇恨和讽刺媒体的题材，自己却在用最讨好观众口味的素材搞了一盘实事大杂烩。160分钟的电影想反映一千本专业著作阐述的理论，涉及的每一个点都是血往头上冲的隔靴搔痒，青春期的智商拍出了这么一部叙事混乱流水账，拿着大针筒子硬生生往你下半身注射西地那非
世界上每一个角落都存在这种肮脏腐朽的不堪，但是敢于呈现在镜头之下，这本身就是一种文化自信和政治自信。
很久没看过这么精彩的主旋律电影了，配乐尤其出彩，而且剧情也没拖后腿，看到结局的时候内心真是五味杂陈，没什么好说的，我只希望这部电影能进明年的豆瓣年度电影榜单。
虽然情节、设定背景都平淡且老套的很，但它还是能一步步把你引入陷进让你泪流不已。
印度电影也跟随韩国电影的脚步，安上了飞翔的翅膀
节奏较差，反转一般，被廉价的同情与愤怒煽动的观众，就和里面被愚弄的民众一样，他们和电影本身一样，不会进行深刻思考。电影整体上缺乏深度，只是对一些现象简单罗列，娱乐效果也一般，做成纪录片加详细社会调查，再把多余的钱用来拯救那些无助的女性或许更有意义。这些缺乏深度、没有独到见解，消费大众道德感的电影越来越多，本质上和娱乐电影并无区别，甚至可以说是另一种伪装，会让这个社会更加疲惫。

这是一个13亿人都在追寻的真相。
大众的愚昧
可能剧本还行，但导演真是太水了，音乐滥用，表演也差。。。
“这就是政治。为了赢，我会玩任何肮脏的游戏，政治家最大的武器知道是什么吗？情感!公众的情感!是疯狂，他们的思想，智慧还有决策都会被这种疯狂推翻。当他们因为这种情绪而忘记一切的时候，我们就能实现统治!”
别觉得印度乱、印度穷，印度的电影行业发达程度令我们望尘莫及。
故事很震撼，电影不太行。原以为是个单纯的jian杀案，然后发现是为了阻止举报的仇杀，最后才知道是为了选举设计的一出戏。一开始以为律师是坏的，结果发现律师是好的。一开始以为警察是好的，结果是坏的。本来信息量就已经非常大了，最后一部分又用闪回的方式试图讲清楚律师与政客的恩怨，试图讲清楚律师是如何被冤枉的，警察是如何看清现实后帮助律师的。最后这部分我觉得再拍一部电影也很紧凑，而本片只用了十来分钟闪回，观众只能大概猜测一二。所以电影最大的问题是顾此失彼，头重脚轻，结构是不平衡的。
真的只是题材立意好吗？真的只是拍了我们拍不出的题材吗？不能选择性眼瞎吧，这部电影在完成度上确实很高，层层相扣，一步步升级，用一部电影拍出了印度各个层面的问题，这不仅仅是敢拍的问题，整部电影的结构层次还有视角的切换都已经非常成熟。虽然我也会开玩笑说韩国电影治国，但是看看现在韩国甚至印度电影的完成度和体系化真的是要学习的吧，摆烂不要说着说着就当真了，如果能让你拍你想拍的题材你就拍的出了？
后半段是跪着看完的。
一名大学教授的残忍谋杀案引发了学生骚乱，临危受命起来调查的警察，再抓捕到4名罪犯后，由于愤怒，在押送途中枪杀罪犯，随即受到审判。在法庭上，面对4名前科累累，底种族肤色人种罪犯，舆论一边倒地指向警察为正义英雄。但是在最后关头，却被“铁拐李”拿出的证据所击穿，原来所谓的英雄也不过是参与其中的一颗引导舆论的棋子，而且还是以妻女为要挟的棋子……【真相：正义英雄把自己犯罪的证据偷偷给对方律师】
