The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 借用了一个美国的故事来讲述一种非常普遍的生活选择和方式，每个在路上的人应该都能感受到相似的情感；人们总因为各种原因上路，在快递仓库与自然美景、房子与van之间，不断挣扎又喘息，可能真是上路了，而能更深刻体会到这种感受，有时候，有些情绪无处言说；赵婷还真是挺厉害的，情感把控很到位，平和也可以很有力量。

中方，中国导演赵婷自幼受社会主义教育。在赴美留学期间关注美国中部底层人民的流浪生活，并拍出一部电影展现了这个受一辈子美元奴役终在晚年决定追逐自己心灵的特殊群体，揭露了资本主义残酷的社会现实。

很喜欢这样的质感，接近纪录片的真诚。感谢导演，给了我宁静的片刻。
由衷感叹，独立勇敢又坚贞的硬核女性，本应拥有幸福啊，但好像只有漫无边际的孤独。
何止是流浪，在都市里独居，举目无亲的孤独感在钢铁丛林里蔓延，每到深夜都想尝试放纵自己，用感官的刺激来弥合精神上的空虚。
质量不错的，但是评价是不是过誉了？老年《天涯沦落女》➕失落的美国工业之歌。里面的原声音乐有时候挺多余的

以纪录片的呈现为外套，其核心仍是主流片女主的情感线——流浪疗愈，渴望家庭，专情配偶。跟同名非虚构小说不是一回事情，但看得出华人导演很希望融入美国社会。
