The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 新瓶老酒，瑕不掩瑜，结尾确实有被感动到。美术设计、主旨立意、表现形式都很好，几乎是在现实与超现实间达到了一种微妙的平衡，将那种老派又热血的情感宣泄地淋漓尽致。致那些迫于生计夹杂在梦想与现实间进退两难的人：人生浮沉如上山下山，怀揣希望之光照亮前行之路，紧握梦想之石跨越重重阻碍。“只要鼓点还能在心中响起，我们就是雄狮”。
饥馑里忆丰年，末日里说希望，有童心童趣，但也不过是个小品。虽然背景是废土，说到底还是撒糖。
合格类型片，只要结尾够感动，观众可以忘记前面光铺垫不点炮一笔带过不深挖的剧情。我比较纠结的点是臭氧层破了气温升高，地表还能不能维持一个大气压，有没有臭氧层的区域这么大温差会不会导致刮大风。浅归浅，还是有它诗意的部分。Jeff的口音太像波拉特了，我看老外也都这么说，我一直脑补Jeff说she is my sister。音乐居然是Gustavo Santaolalla写的，完全没有他以前让他扬名立万的拉丁探戈风格。
末日片+公路电影+成长史，Jeff在阳光下爆爆米花兴奋跺脚喊着again again，期待名字，仰望极光，感受太阳与蝴蝶，义无反顾奔向金门大桥……他一直拥有这些原始的情绪，并单纯地作出每一件事。他靠在濒死的Finch肩头上难过，送他到大桥，和他的狗一起，他完成了指令里的外的所有事。he is not a machine
终于亲自看上了！场景做得真好，无论广州还是顺德都几乎可以乱真……情节很多日漫元素显得尴尬，跟本土文化格格不入，剧情有些过渡不好的地方也是硬生生糊弄过去了，主角也是莫名其妙开挂，但……看到木棉花，听到振奋的鼓点，如何能不被打动呢//感谢木头姐给看了！五星！！必须的五星！！！
其他这么写实。这人物造型有必要这么分割吗。更生气了。狮子毛写实百分之九十。人物写实百分之一？没一个正常人？得奖开心吗？
人最可怕，人与人之间信任太难，不如robot and dog.
虽然我也不喜欢人类，时不时地就希望世界原地爆炸
其实真不能算是科幻片，或者算软科幻吧，不过无所谓，我也没太纠结这些。片子也真没有太优秀或者太有想象力，不过胜在对，一切都做得挺对的，应该就是整个工业和创作体系都水平高，所以完成度高。而且我是汤姆汉克斯老影迷了，他独角戏确实太牛了。看到最后还是非常感动的。扎扎实实把一个创意表现好，真的很不错。

超出预期的好看，一人👨🏻🚀、一狗🐕、一机器人🤖，听着《American Pie》，开启末日之旅🚌
终于跳出泛滥的神话IP，以一副体育励志的面孔回归现实，直面城乡的生活，直面大都市的吞噬性。物质现实的复原程度，无论是不是以国产动画的维度来衡量，都算得上非常出色了，就比如核心元素的狮子，那种竹篾、绒布、彩纸舞动起来的质感一度让人忘了自己在观看一部动画电影，而且即便情节、配乐方方面面都给足了情绪，影片也并未陷入春药式励志的陷阱。
故事流畅自然，画面氛围真好，瑕不掩瑜，是目前看过最好的国产动画。
故事层面，典型的男性电影，少年成长，热血励志。女性亲情皆为副线，是温情的一个出口。友情占据更大篇幅，少年历经风霜成材，中年不得志授业以翻身，两个年龄层的“咸鱼”们，一起我命由我不由天。非一般国漫的燃，满分配乐，让其超越燃点，直上云霄。非常适合男孩看，也明显是拍给各年龄层男性看的电影。但这并非不适合女性看的电影。
末世风景公路家庭情感片。。。观感体验不错，结尾前稍作稍拖沓。高清画质下，摄影很美。人类的下场最终会怎样不太清楚，但正如那句话说的，其实地球不太需要我们保护，因为我们能毁灭的只是自己。
浪漫的片段，爸爸像施展魔法一样把玉米变成爆米花……感动
我怀着期待打开一部部末世电影，直到僵尸怪物扑面而来让我一次次失望。
“我不在的时候，以保护小狗安全为优先指令。”发明家在生命进入尾声时，发明了机器人来照顾小狗。但拥有人类情感和智识的机器人，刚来到世上就要学会面对无尽的虚空与孤独。人真是矛盾的生物，机器人和小狗身上同时承载了人类的温柔与残忍。片子对人工智能的认知其实挺落后的，但废土科幻只是个外壳，探讨的是我们如何与他人建立联结，如何感受爱。调调很舒服，浅浅的悲伤和诗意。
现在的流媒体时代，电影也越来越故事片化，像美剧一样，导演存在感越来越弱，故事的大数据感越来越强，优点就是故事片回归到了“讲好一个故事”这件事本身，不疾不徐的讲一个故事，娓娓道来，缓缓地进入一个男人的内心。这个故事其实挺文艺的，末日背景真的只是一个背景，提供一种气质，文艺的内核很动人，不死在金门大桥也算是不落俗套了。
